Marketing with Phone Numbers Part 2 – Memorable Numbers
August 2, 2008 – 3:44 pmWhen you see a phone number on a billboard, a TV advert, or even on a van driving past at 30 miles an hour, what kind of numbers stick in your mind? Can you remember a phone number you saw or heard in a piece of advertising?
If you can, great! Theres a good chance the number you remember has taken something from one of the most basic marketing tactics: repetition. Thats right, phone numbers with repeating digits are the most popular for companies looking for a memorable phone number. They can also be the most expensive. If you want proof, check out what your bank’s phone number is, or go have a look at the main numbers for the larger pizza chains. They all have memorable phone numbers, because they want customers to call them, and customers are more likely to call if they can remember the phone number. Simple.
So, for companies who have visible marketing campaigns such as websites, billboards, radio or TV advertisment, memorable phone numbers are a great choice to maximize response on their marketing.
These memorable numbers are also often referred to as Diamond Numbers, Platinum Numbers or most commonly Gold Numbers. Number providers often charge premiums for setting up the numbers, but they generally will incur the same monthly and call fees as any other similar number.
